Saving Water at the Shower

Description:

A shower head with a built-in timer to help us reduce water usage.

Life Hacks

We all love to take our time in the shower.  The shower is a great place to unwind from a long day, but with tightening fresh water supplies becoming a more immediate issue, it may be time to reconsider how we use water.

Quite often, we can spend much more time than necessary in the shower.  One of my ideas is a shower head with a kitchen timer attached to it.  It cuts water supply when the set amount of time has been reached. It will work without batteries and relys on the user winding it up, like a traditional kitchen timer.  This will hopefully reduce the risks of using electronic appliances underwater.  The main benefits of this appliance is reduced water waste and cheaper water bills.  The timer can serve as a reminder to the user about the importance of water as a valuable resource during the shower, while we may be distracted by other thoughts.  Household members will be glad to know that their bathroom is more available than before as our spouses and siblings spend less time in there.

Interesting idea. Who would consider using it? Have you talked to your team mates and friends? Will they use it? How difficult to install it? Is it easy to operate? Please check out your assumptions while you proceed to refine the problem and develop the solution.
