Sunny Passion Programme

In Hong Kong, the grassroots often face the problem of education inequality due to their lower ability to afford costly private supplementary tutoring or elite private education to raise their competitiveness. In response to this, our project plan to set up an interactive online platform, allowing students to have their English or Chinese composition corrected for free. Students can upload their compositions free of charge, without limitation on the amount of works uploaded. University students will be invited to correct the compositions.

Currently, there are already several organizations helping with the problem by providing free volunteer tutor pair up service or free tutorial service. However, we have observed that there are still many students in grassroots not yet benefitting from these services. Therefore, we have designed a “reward system” and a highly flexible system to boost the motivation of university students to participate. The involvement of the tutors totally depends on how many rewards from the “reward system” they would like to gain -- it is not necessary for them to sacrifice so much time to participate in the free tutoring every week. The project is highly sustainable, with web advertisement covering the expense.
